This concept was developed through an exploration of Esme and Emerson’s shared memories as siblings navigating their dual identity. We wanted to play with stereotyped ideas around cultural identity and gender with costume. The viewer is invited to see their world through a child’s eyes to explore the act of dressing up and performing identity. The set was designed to be an obvious fabrication that was inspired by their memories of their Grandparent’s house.
Lydia directed the shoot, made bespoke custom hand painted outfits as well as designed the set. It was shot by Nick Ilot.
